Le divan de Freud (2022)

GAËL MASKI

Photocollage and acrylic on canvas
110 x 110 cm
Available

Humankind’s resilience is symbolised here by Kintsugi, the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery by highlighting the cracks with gold rather than concealing them. In response to the shackles of his circumstances (the fabric covering his face), this man shows a real capacity to adapt and resist. Survival is a psychological thing, as symbolised by the multi-coloured rug from Freud’s famous couch.
