Breath - Psycho corona series (2020)

GAËL MASKI

Mixed media on canvas
75 x 120 cm
Sold

This artwork is situated at the crossroads of two events which will go down in history, two very recent but memorable moments in our collective psyche: the pandemic and the death of George Floyd. However, Maski has taken a positive opposite view. While explicitly alluding to these tragic events, he has reworked the wording and opened up all sorts of possibilities: “I can breathe”: so, I can cope! These two children, kneeling in supplication, are nevertheless finding a way to breathe.
