This work evokes Congo’s involvement in World War 1 via the Force Publique, the Belgian Congo’s military force. An important German colonial hub in East Africa, Tabora, in modern-day Tanzania, was captured by the Belgian-Congolese forces in September 1916. Close to 10,000 Congolese lost their lives during WW1.
