This work is an allegory of resilience. In an urban setting in Kinshasa, the dromedary in the background symbolises the desert, i.e., a place where living beings are rare. The broken-down cars in this scene reflect the crisis situation in the country. It is a truly desolate scene. However, just like the Tuareg people in the desert, humans manage to adapt to the circumstances. Regardless of how poor they are, and how modest their business is (in this case, selling peanuts), what humans create is vital for them and their families. This is expressed by the coral, a symbol of fertility and wonder.
