Centre fermé, rêve ouvert is inspired by the artist’s own experience of being held for a few days in a detention centre in Belgium because of visa issues. He has created this series of works expressing the feeling of humiliation and which also echo the tragedy in Eastern DRC where women in particular endure violence perpetrated by armed militias.
