Francis Mampuya pays a poignant tribute to the refugees who lose their identities and even their lives on the journeys supposed to lead them to a better life. The silhouettes and faces struggle to emerge from the chaos. Blue, rarely a part of Mampuya’s palette, seems to symbolize the sea and death.
