In Kinshasa a djika is a Congolese person who lives or has lived in Europe or the US, whose appearance evidences their resulting social status. Kura Shomali amuses himself here by imagining a “wannabe” djika, who has never set foot in Europe in all likelihood, but copies the dress code, based on his rather romanticised idea of it.
