A great friendship, which began in 2016 in Cité Maman Mobutu neighbourhood in Kinshasa, has further developed with Gosette officially joining the gallery. We are delighted that she has joined us and thank her for placing her trust in us.
Her talent impressed us from our first meeting with her and from the first shot that she showed us; incidentally, that same picture is now on the cover of her first catalogue.
Two exhibitions showing the work of Gosette Lubondo were scheduled to open in late March 2020. Coronavirus had other plans, but the exhibitions have most definitely been postponed, not cancelled. Her major solo exhibition in Kinshasa retracing her entire body of work from 2013 to 2019 will open when circumstances allow it. In France, Gosette will also be on the bill of a joint exhibition at the Quai Branly Museum À toi appartient le regard et (…) la liaison infinie entre les choses. In the wake of its residency programme and development work carried out over the past decade, the museum is showcasing 26 contemporary non-European artists. Date to be confirmed.
