While in residence at Fontfroide Abbey in Narbonne (France), Freddy Tsimba paid a remarkable tribute to the master of sculpture, Ousmane Sow. Tsimba was inspired by Sow’s Maasai warrior to create  L’immortel, an enormous head, embodying the immortal nature and power of the Senegalese sculptor’s work.

For the Africa Museum’s first temporary exhibition since it reopened in December 2018, the museum is organising a dialogue between Freddy Tsimba’s works and those of the museum, curated by Jean Bofane. Mabele eleki lola ! La terre plus belle que le paradis  will run in Tervuren from 28 October to late January 2021.

One of the sculptor’s works can also be seen at the Vu.e de dos – Images à contre-courant exhibition at Le Delta de Namur Museum until 3 January 2021.
