Papa Mfumu’eto 1er portrays Kinshasa society, and in this work he plunges us into the mystery of the Kanzenzenze nursery rhyme, which has marked generations of children in Kinshasa, although few know its origins or language, which is not Lingala. For those who are interested in Congolese society, and more generally in Africa, his work is a high-quality anthropological survey.
